Who We Are: Blue Plate Restaurant Group is a group of small, neighborhood restaurants that serve fresh, healthy innovative food combined with warm efficient service. We’re a friendly place that customers describe, as “My kitchen away from home!” The entire Blue Plate brand is all about approachability, from our food to our laid back chic ambience. Pay: $22-25/hr plus TIPS! Responsibilities: Work with management to produce diversified menus in accordance with the restaurant’s policy and vision. Finalize dishes and ensure execution is viable. Establish the working schedule and organize kitchen staff. Understand and maintain labor costs. Creating recipe cards and costing recipes Managing inventory, order and par sheets, and various kitchen needs. Produce high-quality, consistent dishes that follow the established menu and meet location’s standards, as well as customer requirements. Source ingredients to maintain the integrity of the menu Requirements: 3+ years of Sous Chef or Kitchen Supervisor experience Ability to communicate in a clear, conscious way to all team members. Ability to understand what people are asking, and provide insight without attitude or ego. Helping to positively problem solve and offering solutions and support where necessary. Must be able to train subordinate cooks and the kitchen staff. Have teaching strategies that convey information clearly and in an accessible manner. Inventory knowledge Systems-oriented, with experience recognizing the need for and creation of systems Ability to utilize provided tech and software for management and reporting Valid ServSafe Manager Certification Proven track record of employee retention and training Means to get to work on time Ability to speak Spanish is helpful Benefits: Opportunity for growth Competitive pay with tips!
